Angry 2019 Tiguan burns lots of oil

We bought a new 2019 Tiguan that is burning lots of oil. Dealer service can't find problem. After three diagnostics they said it might be the PVC valve and replaced it. Oil light came on within 1,000 miles. This is our 7th time taking it to service and they are starting to lean in the direction that "VW literature says that Tiguans can burn up to a quart of oil per 1,000 miles" Is anyone else having this problem. Very troublesome.

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

Is it under warranty still? Take it back to a dealer to get it checked.

They say 600 miles for 500ml is normal.

Default 2019 Tiguan burns oil

My 2019 Tiguan as well is burning oil, quart per 1200 miles. This is the first car I have ever owned that has has an issue like this. Had this been disclosed when we first got the car, we never would have purchased. I have owned many different males and models over the years, never had this issue and to be told that this is industry standard is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable

Default Burning oil 2019 Tiguan

Glad I found this thread. Initially my dealership has me thinking I was crazy and completely dismissed my concerns. Now that it is over 80,000 km they are agreeing there is something wrong (despite me saying this over the last 2 oil changes) and demanding I show them all of my service records. (Ofcourse they didn’t document my complaints). They have even threatened that they will not cover.. without seeing my records that I do have. They are more worried about how they are getting paid then taking the time to assess my car and figure out the problem. I am not a happy VW customer. This will be my last.
