Default Service indicator

On my 2006 1.2 I3 Polo, the service indicator recently started coming on at startup, but it always just says ( "spanner pic", miles, 640 0) The numbers never change from this. Is this a glitch or should I just reset it?

Is it due for a service or don't you know when it was last serviced? You can probably reset the service light with of combination on the odometer zero and ignition key.

I've just seen that you've posted the exact same question on another VW forum Nephrite.

One thing is fact that as a car owner, we must go for car service center time to time. That is the only way to take care of our car and it is good for our safety as well.

It's important to do regular time car services because that's good for long duration work. Indicator was ticking even when it wasn't on, the check engine light had been on, and a brake light was out. I furthermore paid them to do an oil change and had a coupon for an inspection.
