Remote Central Locking ... Do I have it?

1 how do i know if i have remote c. locking?

2 if i have not got it, is there a simple add on or module i can activate to get it working?

My car is a Year 2000 VW POLO 1.4 SE. it has central locking from both sides (with auto roll up windows etc) all on the key. Surely as all the mechanical and electrical bits are already in place, it must be a simple matter to add something to get the thing working from a remote?

i bought it a few years ago butdon't know if it actually had remote c locking in the first place. there is only one button on the key. i assume that is for a light (which doesn't work) so i assume it would be a seperate remote for central locking?

I have VAG COM and lead so can change any module or replace any code if necessary?

Probably by coincidence, the drivers side lock no longer turns anything. It feels like it is disconnected inside. the central locking button inside the drivers door still works. i cant see how to take the door trim off. theres only one screw so assume it all pops off? I dont want to break anything. it does offer a fair amount of resistance when i try to pull it off. Any clues on this?

Anything appreciated.

Yes you have it. You'll have to go to the dealership and order a remote key at a very steep price. Around 3 or 400 bucks I believe.
