Polo classic How do I reset service indicator?

Y reg polo classic (saloon) how do I reset the oil change/service indicator on the dashboard? Have found the diagnostic socket behind the ashtray but how do I connect it up to zero the service display?
If I can get the info on what particular parts to connect up I can design a little gizmo which will do the job for the less technically minded and will publish plans for any folk who are handy with a soldering iron. I just need to know what each of the terminals do and how to activate the reset.

Any help would be appreciated otherwise I will just have to get out the multimeter and wing it

Sorry matey, but me thinks you are wasting your time on here! Look at the reply rate to all the other posts. I waited for a reply for my question, which never came! I drive a Saab and there are sometimes 2000+ users on our main forum, this place is like a ghost town.

If problem has been fixed it will go out by its self after a few runs...you can also reset by disconnecting the battery for a minute
