I made a large mistake when replacing a fuel injector!
Hello! This is my first post here, apologies if I've done something wrong.
I recently purchased a Volkswagen Polo 1.6 tdi 2010. A week later, a coil light comes on and the scanner showing that inejctor 4 has an issue. So in an attempt to save some money, I purchased a reconditioned injector and went about fitting it myself. However, what should have been quite an easy job, has now turned into a nightmare, as when I was pulling out one of the injectors, a washer fell off somewhere. Today I removed the rocker cover to see if I could find it but its still missing, I feel like I've looked everywhere thats visible but still cant seem to find it. Are there any large enough holes that it could have fallen into? My question is, where could it have gone!? I'm very much feeling down in the dumps and a right mug at the moment... https://uk-polos.net/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif I would assume it would 100% be removed. I'm not very technical with these things, so if anything else would need to be removed then I think I would need to somehow get it to a mechanic who actually knows what they are doing. Can anyone help me with where it could be and what possible damage it could cause? I would very much appreciate it. Kind regards, Taen |
In this way, I was changing or attempting to change my fuel injectors up today to check whether I could fix the issue I was having. The issue I ran into was I had a pine need tumble down in the fuel injector opening when I had pulled the injectors and was attempting to eliminate the rail. Anybody have any tips on some solution for it? I'm believing I will have significant engine inconvenience on the off chance that I attempt to wrench it like this, or am I off-base?
