I have been told that if I pay someone to check it, I might as well have it replaced at the same time because of how much the engine will need to be stripped down to check whether it needs replacing or not, so I'd like to save myself the money if possible.

Does anyone know the recommended interval for having the cam belt checked or replaced on the 1.4 CL? The service booklet I have doesn't specify.
