I recently bought a cheap '97 VW Passat. One of the reasons it was cheap is the windshield wipers were stuck on, pulling the fuses or turning the car off was the only way to stop them. Reading similar topics on other model cars, it sounds like either the relay or the motor... just to be sure I unplugged all of the wires from the wipers lever and it still did the same thing. I ghetto rigged a toggle switch and in-line fuse from the fuse box as a temporary fix, but I would like to fix the problem so I can use adjustable speeds, intermittent ect with the lever rather than just 1 speed off a toggle switch. I am wondering how I would go about figuring out if the problem is in the relay box or the wiper motor or if its somewhere else in the system that I'm missing.
