vw Passat coolant question? Please help?
 

Hi i have a 1998 VW Passat, the check coolant light cam on yesterday, i pulled over and checked the coolant and it had boiled and spilled over as i took the lid off. I topped up the coolant and it was ok for a while. However i just drove 10miles and the temperature level was near 260f and the coolant light was beeping. I need to drive to work tomorrow before i can drop it off at the VW garage thats 30 miles. Do you think i will be alright to drive 30 miles if i take regular stops? or will this totally mess up my engine?

If anyone has any ideas i would really appreciate your help or advice!

i dont know if im too late butit sounds like your water pump went out, and i would not drive it, check to see if your heat works, if not, its more than likely the water pump
