Type of oil to use in 03 passat W8
 

I just recently bought a 2003 Passat W8 4 motion, I know it is time for an oil change it almost has 59000 miles on it, and my dad and I were wondering on which type of synthetic oil to use, if not VW brand. He suggested Redline or Royal Purple, but also wanted to know what is the best to go the longest time between changes. If anyone could help me out that would be great.
