Turbo question
 

Hi everybody. I am new here and very new to VW's in general. I have a 2007 Passat 2.0t FSI. Last night I accelerated from a dead stop a little too hard I guess. The turbo kicked in really hard and all of a sudden something blew. It made a loud pop and now the vehicle sounds like it has a huge exhaust leak. I am scared to run it too hard to see if the turbo still works or not. Could this be a hose popped off of the turbo or did I blow an exhaust pipe? The noise seems to be coming from the rear of the engine but I can not pinpoint which side and can not see anything due to how cramped the engine compartment is. Just a note: I thought I had been hearing a bit of a different vacuum noise than normal for the past couple of months when the turbo would kick in.

I just found the problem. There was a weld failure at the exhaust flange where it bolts to the turbo. Anyone know where to get a decent priced performance replacement pipe?
