Trunk issue
 

Not sure how helpful this forum is since there are spam postings everywhere, but I'll give it a shot.

My trunk latch is not locking.
I pulled off the upholstery to gain access to locking mechanism and believe the latch is broken.
I'm guessing the whole thing needs to be replaced, but not sure.

Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know of a solution?

Can anyone tell me what part number this is below (trunk locking part)?

Others have reported that the "spring" inside the lock gets dislodged or plastic parts break off which interfere with the "spring" BUT after taking it apart, I don't see any evidence of that. I'm starting to wonder if it's an electrical problem.

What do I check to verify any electrical issues?
