Trouble codes
I have a 1998 Passat 1.8 4 cyl and I am getting trouble codes p1136 (fuel trim too rich at idle) and P1613 (Transmission control module, short to B+)
does anyone have an idea on what might be causing this? can the 2 be related? Thank you Chivoon |
RE: trouble codes
i think that they could be related...if the transmission is having troubles, the ecu may be trying to compensate with added fuel...

p1136 problem: You're getting too much air or not enough fuel (clogged injectors, fuel pump or filter issues).

hi i had a short on the rear lights

You've most likely got a blown out intake plenum pan gasket that's causing the oil consumption and it will take out the catalytic converter as well if ignored, before pulling the intake check the compression on cylinder 6 to be sure it's the same as the other cylinders because those trucks were also prone to suffering from pounder valve seats that would cause misfires and if it is it's a good time to do the head when the intake is already out,
let me know what you find please as well |
