Starting issues

My girlfriend has an 04 volkswagen passat tdi and I do not know much about volkswagens like I do other vehicles, let alone diesels for that matter but i was wondering if these cars have plugins like most other diesels to help with the starting when its cold. I have checked all other possibilities of it not wanting to start and they all checked out okay. So my last hope is to see if they have a plugin. I have looked a couple times before but I have not seen one. Unless I am looking in the wrong place. Anyone who can help or have any idea so that i can get into the right direction. It would be greatly appreciated thank you.

All VW's have a diagnostic socket. Diagnostic Socket Locator So you need an EOBD II scanner to scan for any error codes logged in the ecu.

The ideal tool would be VCDS

I've Already Looked For Codes And Their Is None Set...But Do You Know If These Kind Of Cars Have Plug Ins Since They Are Diesels? If So Where Is IT Located At?

Thank You
Tyler

I've already said all VW's (petrol & diesel from 1991) have a DLC connector and I've shown you the location on a Passat.

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. I know where the DLC is located at, but what I was meaning was if there is a plug in coming from the bottom of the motor on the outside of the car so that I can plug it in when it is cold that way it keeps the bottom of the pan warm or whatever it is used for. I know that the majority of diesels need to be plugged in when it is cold other than that they have a better chance of gelling up and not wanting to start.

I'm with you now.

There is a device called a block heater which heats up the coolant. These are generally fitted as standard on Canadian VW's as it cold up there. The mains voltage socket is positioned by the front fog lamp.

You can Google VW block heater or VW frostheater for more info.
