Rain sensor problem 2002 Passat
 

Had my windscreen replaced lately and now my rain sensor doesn't work. The company replaced the gel pad but still doesn't work. Works when sensor removed from window??
Car imported from England, rain sensor not available on Irish models so local dealers have no idea when I contacted them over the phone.
Anyone experienced the same problem?
