Passat won't start

I have a 99" Pasat and it has not started a few times but after 3 attempts it has started. This time it will not start. It turns over and tries to fire but will not start. Any ideas?:(

could it be your starter? maybe take it to your local vw dealership, they may be able to help. good luck!

A 99 Passat what petrol or diesel?

I'm going to make a Sticky that users should have their basic car spec in their signatures as it makes it easier to know what model ans spec we are talking about as ESP is not one of my better talents.

99" Passat

It is a gas not diesel. It is not the starter as it is turning over. As I stated it has not started before, but after a few attempts it finally starts. This time it will not. The engine is trying to fire but just won't.
