Hi - New to the forum so please bear with me.

I've recently purchased an '02 Passat TDI Estate with 52K on the clock and have already been bitten by a massive repair bill for a new Brake Servo caused by the dreaded plenum chamber drain plug issue.

On top of that, I'm also seeing quite a bit of white smoke when the engine's cold and some white sludge around the oil filler cap.

Are the 2 things related and will the white smoke and sludge issue go away now that the servo's been fixed and the plenum drain has been modified by the garage?

If the issues are not related or I need to do something proactively (not sure my bank balance can handle any more bad news at the moment) what can I do to cure the smoke and sludge issue?

Any advice or assistance gratefully received.
