i have a 2014 Passat tdi and the instrument cluster is having issues. Here is the weird thing it works until the car starts. Then everything turns off no spedo fuel rpm nothing anyone ever seen this? I checked fuses but generally if it was blown it would not turn on at all. I'm out of ideas and need help

 

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

 

Hi, Tanin Auto Electronix here. We are vendors on the site that specialize in instrument cluster repairs. Though we can't diagnose without seeing the cluster, here is one thing we would suggest first:

The issue could be a loose connection in the wiring harness. So we would start there if we were you.

The other thing is that it could be in the cluster but we would't know til we had the cluster and ran diagnostics on it.

Diagnosis

If we do run diagnostics and a cluster is not repairable, we locate replacements and program the correct mileage into them for customers.
