Passat Tail light out

Hi,

I have a brake/tail light out on my 2000 Passat. How the hell do you get at it? Anybody have any help. Much appreciated.

peel the carpet from behind the light.
youll be looking at a white block with wires coming out of it.
about midway down on either side there are tabs.
squeeze the tabs and pull
