PASSAT ENGINE JUDDER ?

Hi everyone im new to the forum and was wondering if anyone had any advice about the problem im having with my 1999 passat estate 1.9tdi 110bhp automatic.

The problem is when im driving at 30,40,50,60 in top gear and want abit more acceleration the engine shudders like a misfire perhaps inbetween 1500 and 3000 revs but if i put my foot down it kicks down and accelerates on performance seems to be ok. i have even tried to rev in neutral between the revs ive had problems with but it was ok the engine seems sweet as a nut it seems to have problem underload.

i have been thinking of changing the air flow metre but it isnt losing power just sort of misfire/shuddering underload.

hope someone here can help its doing my head in as you cant drive the car normal without it juddering!!

thanks

Maybe fuel pump can't keep up with the higher rev's constantly?? Is the turbo working properly, check it out?? Could be electrical, maybe? Lots of things that could be doing this... anyone else

You might want to check for vaccum leaks (or incorrect vaccum line hookup). I had the same type of problems with a naturally aspirated VW but the symptoms aren't to far off.
