Default Passat bearing issue, need help

Hi guys,

While my daughter was driving down the street I heard a clunky/howling noise from the passenger rear of the car. This is a GLX, 1999 with 135k miles. We are the second owners. Anyways, I figured a bearing was the issue so I jacked the car up and spun the tire and it wobbled more than any of the other wheels and it makes a horrible noise. Very grindy like.

So, I pulled the wheel, the pads and caliper. Then, removed the five 8mm hex bolts and started to pull the hub toward me but I noticed a wire or hose that plugs into the back of this bearing hub. What is this and how do I get this off?
Does this unscrew from the back or something?

Need some advice and help on this one. I think I can handle this once I know what that is and how I can go forward. Thanks... The daughter is driving me crazy not being able to drive her car. lol

Thanks in advance.
