over heating
 

Hi guys, gota problem with the over heating. I was driving when the console flashed STOP, CHECK COOLANT. I pulled over and checked but it was fine. The pump is working and the fans turn on. Could it be something serious? Im a student and I haven't very much money to toss. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
