My Car "SHAKES"
Hello all,
I have a 2006 Passat 2.0T Sedan. Today morning, I took out my car to go to work. During the cold start I felt my car shake a little bit. I did not pay too much attention to the shake because i thought it was due to a cold start. When I pressed the breaks at a red light my car started SHAKING very badly. The car is basically trying to move forward - But it doesn't because I have the breaks pressed. It happens when the car is on Drive or Sports mode. When it is on PARK, the shakes a little bit. But it is scary when the car SHAKES/JUMPS to move forward when it is on Drive/Sports mode. Any idea? I got the 25000 miles service done 2 days ago. Everything was ok until today morning. Weird. I contacted the dealer, they told me to bring it in. Any comments/suggestions appreciated! |

might be a misfire

RE: My Car "SHAKES"
The most common cause of car shaking is an imbalance wheels. This is just a cheap repair. But be sure that the person balancing the wheels should also check that the wheels are not bent. Let them inspect the tires for unusual wear patterns. Also they must make sure that tires are rotating at the same time. Good luck to you friend. I must be grateful that my one month old Volvo S60 is satisfying me with its great performance.

RE: My Car "SHAKES"
it wouldnt be unbalanced wheels if it shakes while you not moving. You may also check your motor mounts, a broken motor mount could shake your car.
