Loss of power/AMM fault?
Hi all
Have an 02 Passat TDI Sport that has suddenly lost half of its power. The helpful AA roadside okay'd the turboand did a fault code check and found nothing, then muttered something about possible oil pump failure using anecdotal evidence from a1998 car,but from reading this excellent and informative forum I believe this suggestion to be incorrect. A very good friend who an experienced mechanic suggests putting it into my local VW agent for a fault code read (again) as he believes that it could be a number of things-My question is: Shall I buy an exchange Air mass meter from GSF and risk it, or should I get a fault code read again for what will probably be a wasted fee?. |
RE: Loss of power/AMM fault?
air mass faults will not put an engine code in. air mass is really common. disconnect it and run the vehicle and see if it changes the way the car runs. if it improves at all there is your answer.
