Looking into buying an 2002 Passat Wagon...HELP

I am looking at an 02 Passat Wagon..plz tell me the good, bad and the ugly about these cars. Is it a good year? What model do you recommend?I have never owned a VW before,so any comments or suggestions would begreatly appreciated!!!
