Default KEY FOB Problem!! Please HELP.

I have a 2000 Volkswagen Passat. I have been stuck home all day today because I cannot get in my car. The Key Fob is not unlocking my car. I am afraid to open it manually because the alarm system may go off.

Does anyone know if the alarm system will go off if I open my car manually (just sticking the key in the door)? I only have one key fob for my car, not regular key. Also, since the buttons on my key fob is not working, is it actually because of the batteries in the key fob?

Thank you.

Hi

open your car with the key, put the key in the ignition and turn, if the key is genuine the alarm will not go off. Each key is coded specifically to the vehicle. By the way, you need to change the battery in the key fob!
