HEY!! As you all can see im new, but im sure youll get to know me on here since ill more then likely need lots of help since the passat 1.8t is MUCH different then my prove GT 2.5 V6. The car i just picked up is a 99 pasat and did not come with any manuals, im just wondering of the general maintenace of the car such as all fluid types (oil tranny PS PB etc) and what buttons work what..lol. maybe even how to properly use tiptronic without blowing the tranny. and maybe a few mods to boost HP. Any help/tips would be great, and look forward to being an avid poster on these forums.

 

Welcome! I was always told that you have to get the coolant straihgt from the dealer cause the green stuff gels up the system. I have not seen any other place to buy the stuff, so I trust the dealer won't sell me the wrong coolant. HP is fairly simple with 4 bolt-ons...intake, exhaust, underdrive pulley, and chip. Those 4 things I feel are the first things you do to mod a car. If you do n othing else, you engine will breathe better, and last longer, plus you've added almost 30HP to it.

 

you can run a dexcool type antifreeze in it i have never seen it gel
dealer stuff works great
