Engine oil cooler or FMIC?

I hear the 1.8l Turbos cook oil and I was curious if i put and engine oil cooler on would that greatly help the cooking problem, or would a FMIC be better? Or should i just not worry about it and hope that my oil changes (every 3-4k) are good enough?
