engine misfire

well this morning i was driving and on hard excelleration my engine started to miss, then i scanned it at work and found it was cyl. 2, first i looked at it and it seemed as if the coils were not down all the way, pushed them in and still did it, so i replaced the coil, still did it, but it was getting worse, so i thought maybe the plugs got cracked from wiggling the coils around, so i replaced those too, still no better, can someone help me out please, thank you

If you replaced the plugs and wires, it the coil pack. It's pretty expensive, mine was little over $200....but it runs better than before. Try that, if that doesn't work I dunno, but at least you have 2 packs just in case..lol.

my car does not have wires, its coil on plug, unlike a vr6, i hate coils, but the coils are only 25 bucks

Oh yea that's right....well, anyways it makes it a little harder then. I'm not really sure man, I've only dealt with a couple Passats.

My GTI had the same problem. The #2 cylinder coil would always be higher than the other coils, causing a misfire. I changed the plugs and that worked. What plugs did you put in?

well i figured it out, i need a new coil wire harness, the connecter going to #2 is bad, i guess its somewhat of a common problem.
