My "emissions Workshop" light has been on for the last four years in my 2000 1.8 passat. If the check engine light is on in CA, you are an automatic "fail" when smogging your car. I have been to my mechanic six time in the last six weeks to remedy this problem. Everytime he fixes something, the light comes back on in about ten miles. A different code pops up each time. Does anyone know of a way to pass this smog check?

 

does your car have an aftermarket radio installed?

 

No, just the radio that came with the car.

 

it could be a misadjusted system. Go get that checked and read the codes. Let me know when you get the code i can help you out
