crankshaft camshaft sync
 

So the timing belt on a 98 passat 1.8t lost some teeth on the crankshaft gear. the gear was spinning alone because the belt had no teeth and didn't catch. everything is taken apart but i the crankshaft spun without the camshaft spinning. as far as i know, it has to be synced with the camshaft gear. what can i do to sync the two?

i said the first sentence weird. the part of the belt touching the crankshaft gear has no teeth so the belt isn't moving whatsoever.
