Question Considering purchasing 2001 Passat GLS

Hey everyone. I was hoping to get some insight from experienced VW owners about a 2001 Passat GLS sedan. From what little research I've done, it seems like this particular year was just a bad streak of luck for the car & it seems to come with a list of issues. Is this really typical with this year? Most of the other years I've looked up just don't seem to have the same problems. If it is common place for these problems to come about, what can I really expect in terms of repairs or costs? (Assuming it would actually have anything come up )

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I've got high hopes that this car will work out great & I really will have the chance to enjoy a VW. Thanks! Peace!

Find out what the enging code is on the car and then we can see what problems you may run into. You can locate this to the right of the vavle cover on the front of the motor stamped to the head.

Default Look elsewhere

Mine has a few quite expensive and painfulproblems...cost me an arm and leg to fix. If you have a choice, I would look elsewhere.
