Check Engine Fault
Recently, I purchased a 2007 Passat 2.0 Turbo. After driving the car for about a week, the check engine light came on. I had the code checked and it said the #4 cylinder was misfiring. I changed the spark plugs and the #4 ignition coil. I then had the code cleared. Now, the light is back on.
I don't know what else to check or change. Any ideas on what could be causing this error? Thanks |

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing. https://volkswagenforum.com/forum/ne...gnature-34185/ |
Solved
Figured this one out. It is my gascap seal. The seal is apparently gone and causes a "check engine" error. Has to be replaced.
Expensive damned thing too. |
My check engine light has become a regular fixture on my console; 2006 2.0L Passat. I was told initially that is was due to an oil leak. That was fixed, light came back. Now 3 different shops are telling me it's a temp sensor issue. They said if the car's temp is staying regular to not worry about it.
