2001 V6 Passat EPC light on
 

The EPC light lit up the other day and the display mentioned 'Emissions Workshop' then the engine light with a lightning bolt lit up and has been on ever since. The EPC warning appears about every other time I start the car and the car losses power. Has anyone had this problem and perhaps I can look at a few things prior andperhaps fix it, otherwise I'm its off to the dealer to get fixed. The air filter was changed within the last six months so were the plugs the car only has 49,000 miles ont it. Thanks Paul

hello, looks like you need a lambda probe.your car should have four on it two upstream and two behind the cats. it is very likely that it will be one of the up stream ones. you will need to get this diagnosed. ndiy lambda prob testers are easy to come by and cheap. hope this helps you... robert g..
