2000 Passat Valve Gasket Prob
 

Hi everyone. I am new here, but I have a problem, and hope someone can help me. I have a 2000 Passat, 5 spd with about 70k miles on it. Recently, I have found oil in the holes where the plugs go. (I am female, and mechanically ignorant- but am having to learn quickly, so forgive me if I don't know the "technical terms".) It makes my car sputter and miss, esp at a stop. I think the vale gasket is leaking? Does this sound right before I take it to a mechanic and they rape me? (No pun intended LOL)Any other ideas? When I dry out the holes the plugs go in, it is fine. I have replaced the wires and the plugs already...Thanks for all your insight!
