Hey all.

I have a 1997 Passat GLX Wagon, with a 5-speed manual. The cruise control doesn't work. I hit the "set" switch and nothing. Bummer.

Can anybody tell me the things I might need to do to troubleshoot the cruise control?

The back-up lights aren't working either. I was hoping these problems might be related and that it had to do with maybe when the clutch was replaced (by the car's previous owner) that some bonehead at the shop forgot to plug in some harness or other. But I can only find the one harness on the tranny that leads to the speed sensor. Are there any other harnesses lurking on the transmission housing that a good poking around under the hood wouldn't normally reveal?
