Hi guys I am new to this forum and am just after some advice. My 2009 passat 2.0tdi has a fault with its DSG gearbox. The gearbox has gone into limp mode and when the RAC plugged it in the fault code C072F came up and from further investigation it is the Pressure seliniod sensor bank 4. Open circuit. The gearbox has had a full service around 2 months ago and the car has always been serviced on time. I have gone to a vw specialist who has advised me that it is the mecatronic unit and has quoted me a price of £1350 to get it removed sent off to be refurbished and get refited. Etc... firstly is this a fair price and secondly as this is the first vw I have owned is there any other faults I should be now looking out for? It is on 120k miles the belt and tensioner has been done at 91k and it is the high line spec with nav and reversing camera etc.

I don't have C072F error code in my EOBD II Fault Codes Software

Google shows nothing. RAC use a good generic scanner because of the vehicles they deal with.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems o.
