Default Transmission

I have a 98 Passat 1.8T with the Tiptromic tranny. The car shifts hard(kicks) into first (but not all the time), also when downshifting does the same. But the most irritating thing is when doing 40-50km and releasing the gas, it also kicks. Took it to 2 dealers but no one knows for sure. The computer shows no codes. The latest tech told me it could be 3 things. The tranny fluid should be changed (even though it is sealed), then try the torque converter, and then try valve body. There is too much guessing. Can someone please help........any suggestions....

yeah, all three of those are possibilities...

I would do a tranny flush first seeing as how it is the cheapest. The fluid gets thick and starts to cause the valves in your transmission to stay open or closed too long.. which causes the hard shifting. should be able to get one around $100 or so

anybody have any idea for a 2001 wagon that was shifted into drive when it was still rolling backwards and now won't go forward or backward in any gear and rolls when you put in park? If it is custom to flame newbs then flame on.
