P0544 code with engine & glow lights on
Hello everyone,
I am posting on behalf of my Dad whose 2008 VW Passat 2.0lt TDi has developed a problem recently.
As background, he left his car in the garage for 2-3 months and it has not been started\driven during that time.
When he got to eventually drive it, the engine and glow (the one which looks like a twirly pig's tail) lights came up on his dashboard.
Using a cheap OBDII bluetooth device connected to his car, I was able to retrieve the P0544 error code using the Torque Android app.
I would like to know whether anyone has been able to successfully resolve this issue & how. Also, is it safe to drive the car around over short distances or should the car be taken immediately to a mechanic\dealer to avoid any costly damage(s) to the engine\other parts?
Many thanks in advance.
Michael
