VR6 Broken lower timing chain

Thinking about getting my daughter a jetta VR6. I'm looking at buying a 96 VR6 that has a broken lower timing chain. Supposedly it happened when he was pulling into a parking space. Can anyone tell me if there will be any other damage that might have been caused by the broken chain?
