Vacuum Leak/Intake manifold issue? HELP PLEASE
 

I have a 2003 VW Jetta GLS 2.0L NonTurbo.

I recently changed out the spark plugs, and wires, and after putting the car back together, it will start up, rev itself to 3k RPM, and immediately stall out.

I then hear a high frequency noise coming out from underneath the intake manifold, and there is a small pool of oil underneath the car (about the size of a pancake).


I was thinking vacuum leak or intake manifold leak. I added Silicon to the intake manifold gasket and reseated it, but the problem persists.

Do you all have any other ideas as to what might be messing up my car? Where are all the vacuum lines and how do i inspect them if the car won't stay running?

Please help. I start my new job tomorrow and I want to fix this today if at all possible.

If you've sealed the inlet manifold and checked all vacuum pipes and connections to the manifold. You can normally find vacuum leaks with one of those hand held propane gas canisters. If you spray it around the manifold and the revs increase you have a vacuum leak to find.

You need to get your motor scanned for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them.
