Hi guys, new forum member. I'm thinking about purchasing a 2004 Jetta GLS 1.8T Wagon, with 38,000 miles. Hoping to go look at it tomorrow (thursday).

Can you guys tell me what I should be looking for when inspecting the car? Any common problems with these cars I should be aware of?

Anyone have one, or something similar? How is the reliability and build quality?

i have the same car but not a wagon....and i know for a face that the water pumps are crap, so check that out

 

I'd check for any Car problems At All, MY last VW i bought, The gas tank had a HUGE leak and the hoses were bad which made a Really bad Gas smell in the car. Just test drive, look at everything, if anything get a warrenty or if something's wrong return the car for full cash.
