Stalling after clutching.

Hello, new to this forum as I'm seeking outside help to try an resolve a problem I can't seem to fix.

I drive a 2000 Jetta 2.0 manual tranny. My check engine light popped on and my car proceeded to randomly stall when I clutch, typically only at slower speeds and not while I clutch in during highway driving. The car DOES start right back up and i've never encountered a problem with it not starting. I have a code reader (works on every car I try it on including my friends exact same 2000 Jetta, and my previous 2000 Jetta) that will not work on my car sadly, i've checked all the fuses and believe it is likely a problem with the computer itself.

I replaced the crank shaft position sensor as I attempted to research the problem online and that seemed to be the general consensus fixing the issue for other people who were having similar problems in their Jetta's.

I'm completely stumped and any insight/help regarding this issue would be much appreciated !

Well if the MIL light is on then there must be an error code logged in the ecu. Find someone with VAG-COM\VCDS to do a scan and post the error codes.
