i have no idea what to do! jettas seem like the car i want but im not sure. i need some expert advice on price, durability, and the overall performance of jettas. i also was wondering if passats are better than jettas... PLEASE help!

 

The only reason Im considering a jetta is because of the diesal model and the economy it offers. other than that, VW doesnt have a great reputation for reliablity.

 

Every year, make, model vehicle has it's problems, it's just the manufacturer. VW is really good vehicles like the GTI's, I have a 2000 Jetta VR6, little problems here and there, but none like I see on here. If you're looking to get a VW cause of fuel saving resaons, you're better of getting a Honda Civic with a 1.5 or 1.6.

 

A civic cant match the economy of the diesal

 

My roomate has a 1.5 or 1.6 VTECH hatchback civic and gets like 30-something MPG. I was just comparing and contrasting the 2, my bad..ha ha

Maybe I can make it for you. The honda is a reliable car, although not as good of mileage as the VW, so that might be a better option.

BTW, 30 mpg isnt even close to the 49 mpg that the TDI offers.

 

Diesel is more expensive is some places, anways it don't matter, whatever you decide to get enjoy it.

 

diesel is starting to come back down in price, and even if it were slightly more, for 15 more mpg, it would be a better value anyway.

i think he wants information on VW.s, not hondas. He appears to have not returned anyway.....
