Question about Turbo in 2003 Wolfsburg

I recently bought a 2003 Jetta Wolfsburg 1.8T. I've never had a turbo car before, so im not familiar with how they are supposed to run. It seems that sometimes my turbo will just not kick in. Other times it works perfectly fine though. Could there be something wrong with the turbo?

RE: Question about Turbo in 2003 Wolfsburg

i had an 01 wolfsburg 1.8T and it is just really bad in the turbo lag department dont worry about it. If you wind the gears out you wont get much lag. just keep the RPMS up there and youll be fine..i stongly suggest gettin a BOV because that gets rid of the excess air and then when you have the turbo kick back in it doesnt have to push that air back out it just gets rid of a lot of turbo lag but that is what i would do and just a recc. a HKS SSQS BOV is the way to go
