PLEASE HELP, running out of ideas
Hey guys I am praying you can help me with this problem. I bought a VW jetta 2003 about 2 years ago. Has 65K miles. Each winter, when it is real cold and car is outside, it will not start. Tried jumping it, doesn't help. Battery is fine. Here is what happens. I turn the key and all the light and gauges turn on, but no start. Then if I do it a few more times I hear a GRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr GGGGRRRRRrrrrrrrrr over and over. So I just tried it again and now everything shakes like crazy when I turn the key, the locks the shifter shake and the gauge lights all flicker. Its a regular gas car. Last year I I took it to mechanic, he had no idea what was wrong, but said he isn't to familiar with VW's. I then had it towed to a vw specialist and sure enough as soon as he got it, the car started fine. No one in my town is familiar with VW's and I don't want to have it towed 45 miles to the VW dealership. I read this forum at length and didn't find any similar problems. Any ideas PLEASE, I have no idea what to do.
thanks in advance guys, I appreciate your help.

it only does it when it's cold?? Like is anything frozen? if you turn the key and nothing happens but the ligths are on could be ignition problem. If you can, download any fault codes.

RE: PLEASE HELP, running out of ideas
Thanks for the quick reply. Only in the cold does this happen. During normal weather there are no problems. Doesn't seem like anything frozen, going to try adding some HEET to the tank today to see if that helps.Only reached about 7 degrees last night, so fuel line shouldn't freeze yet right, thought it had to be much colder? And I am car stupid, what are default codes and what do i do with them
thanks for you help
