PCM Reset???

I have a 2009 Jetta TDi and am new to the VW world. I recently had a minor implication with my wife leaving the drivers door open and me backing my truck into the garage and yeah... you know where I'm going. So I was working on the door and I disconnected the wire harness to the door and ever since my airbag light has been on. I assume the PCM detected the airbag being disconnected and just needs to be reset. Can anyone tell me if it can be done easily or does the dealer need to do it by computer? Thanks in advance.

the light turned on cuz you have a crash sensor on the door... if you disconnect the battery for ten seconds it should reset the light ... or go to an autozone or pats store that has a scanner and ask them if they can reset it for you...l if it comes back on you got a hard fault that probably means you need a new crash sensor

depending on your state autozone may not be able to reset ur light.. i know here in dallas it is against the law for them to reset it.. i dont know about the newer Vdubs but on my 98 i unhooked my battery to reset and it did nothing (even after sitting for like 30 mins.. all it was was a faulty gas cap.. as far as crash sensors go.. i would go to the dealer..
