Oil Specifications and Viscosity!

2015 Jetta 1.8 TSI Turbo CPKA
My engine sticker says VW-502
My owners manual says VW 502-503 and 504 5w30 and 5w40
I know that 504 and 507 are low ash usually designed for diesel engines such as Mobil 1 ESP. I have a Mercedes and the low ash oils for diesels are not recommended for gas engines. Seems VW504 low ash is OK for my Jetta from what I can read.
VW Audi spec sheets (TSB 17 17 88 2010043/16 October 25, 2017) for VW-502 has Mobil 1 0W40 on the list (I think this is the "European" formula). Does this override the 5W rating in the owners manual?
The only Mobil VW502-504 oil with 5w30 is Mobil 1 ESP
What do you people do? VW502 0w40 or VW504 5W30?

This seems to indicate that 504 supersedes 503. and not a substitute for 502!
Anyone confirm this?
