Default Oil change

2005 Jetta. 2.0 Ltr. Using Castrol 5W-40 Synthetic, year round. Summer AND winter. How long can I go on an oil change with this oil? Thanks. Like to hear a couple of opinions on this.

It's normally every 3,000 miles. But, castrol oil doesnt last that long anymore, as it tends to burn down before 3,000 miles. I'm trying that royal purple oil brand right now in my vw jetta. So, i will see how it goes...

Yeah, I used full Synthetic. It could go further, with the right oil. Even 5K... I used to like Castrol alot. But, since this started happening to me. That's why i'm trying another oil brand....

Most FULL SYNTHETIC can go to 5k or more like Amsoil,Royal Purple,Mobil 1 Never really liked Castrol. I use a blend kendall 5w30 in my Vr6 it has 140k on it.
