Coolant for Jetta GLX 2001?

They told I had to put special coolant on my Jetta GLX 2001...is this true?
If so, which should I buy? Im like 2 hours away from the nearest VW dealer and I need to fill it ASAP.

Sorry for the noob question.

VW recommend distilled water with newer G13 anti-freeze,

I don't know that the recommend distilled water is important.
