Default Non-interference vs Interference

I have a 99 Jetta, 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder. (80,000 miles).How would I know if I have an interference or non-interference engine? The answerwill determine the urgency that I need to place on the changing of the timing belt.

Your 99 is a Non-Interference engine, But....change the timing belt anyway!!!!!
